The Music Connection is a group of musicians with a broad set of skills they employ in the service of groove based Jazz music. Drummer and composer Rafael Monteagudo of Havana, Cuba, is the groups leader. His compositions push the envelope of music as we know it, allowing musicians like pianist Chiemi Nakai, bassist Jennifer Vincent, and saxophonist Onel Mulet give wing to inspired, passionate interpretations that can only be conjured when the spirit of this creative music moves them to ever greater heights. Their rhythm and melodic concepts are evident on their first two albums, the first being Innovation and their latest release, Rhythm Lab.
